Design and Geometry Development
Once the design concept has been selected, Engenuity can play an important role tuning the design to meet specific parameters, such as manufacturability, joint design, strength durability, crashworthiness, serviceability, safety, noise and vibration, as well as cost, weight and environmental impact.
It is the component geometry which governs the inherent efficiency of the design principally through being able to carry load in the manner best suited to the composite architecture being deployed. Manipulating the geometry to within the package space or to locally change the core thicknesses or density can dramatically change the performance of a structure with minimum impact on cost.
Our input often gives customers a new perspective on their products and concepts leading to the opportunity to exploit innovation. A key element is the consolidation of parts into larger mouldings to increase efficiency and reduce the tooling and assembly costs involved.
Engenuity has unparalleled experience in analysis of composites and can advise on how to develop optimum solutions based on detailed analysis to meet demanding new composite design projects.
